Start Of A New Dynasty

This top reminds me so much of my high school days when we had countless hours of Chinese history classes. Who would’ve thought fashion would ever remind me of those? LOL! Not that they’re bad memories, I was quite good at them actually. I found our Chinese subjects easy. And out of all of them, history was my favorite. To me, it was like storytelling class. Of course to most of my classmates, it was torture.

I think it may be my fondness towards my Chinese history classes that drew me to this blouse. I find its print very interesting. It’s oriental but not in the usual way. No Chinese silk, floral patterns, embroideries or mandarin collars.

itscamilleco.com2013070701

I thought I’d make it younger and more modern by using it in a print on print ensemble. Of course, I didn’t want to pair it up with another oriental-inspired print. I wanted to go for something a bit more unexpected like this skirt. What do you think?

I love this combo. Even tho its print overload, it still manages to be easy on the eyes, perhaps because of the colors.
Anyways, I have loved prints since I met you (your blog ;D ) ! I love your style forever! XOXO

I want to comment on Chinese but my laptop can’t type Chinese.. LOL.. I learn Chinese until I’m Form 3 (15 years old) in high school.. we follow UK’s education system.. I enjoy Chinese class when i was in primary school but it’s just not fun anymore when i was in high school cuz the exam are too hard.. maybe because i went to a non-Chinese school during high school and the teacher kinda ruin it.. but we didn’t learn the Chinese history though.. just the ‘ming2 ju4 jing1 hua2’ and all that.. it’s not a bad memory though cuz i still love Chinese and it’s a part of me and I’m proud that i can speak and read and write in Chinese! It’s no mistake for calling you Print master cuz you look so chic in this outfit! The print is so unique! I spot the soldier and the colour of the skirt blend well together with your top! and I really love your blue heels, Ms Camille! <3

Just like everyone else I thought this was a dress. I didn’t notice the different patterns until I actually read where you talked about the bottom half being a totally different piece. This combination was really good. You have an amazing eye for prints and mixing them together. Inspired!

Made me smile! Such color, Miss Camille! The prints on both the skirt and the top blended so well, I thought you were wearing a dress! Plus the complementary hues are not hard on the eyes.

This outfit makes you look very feminine, yet business-like. Someone who likes to make a statement even in an office setting. You are such a head-turner! I wish I had the grit and guts to wear more prints. :-D

Great pair of footwear too. I often see this shade of blue in your outfit posts. Looks wonderful!

Everything looks regal to me :D Super bagay, you look very pretty and I think you’re the only one who can pull off the print on print without looking cheap and dizzying. By the way, do you read http://www.fashionpulis.com? That site is pretty entertaining pero there are a lot of bashers ng mga blogger friends mo, ang ibang comments are super rude, why is this relevant to your post, you ask? Well, kasi I’ve read there sa mga comments na bagay sayo ang print on print, pero they call Laureen Uy baduy when she wears print on print though. From your posts here and on your instagram, you always say that Laureen is super nice and sweet etc., pero I’m just wondering why she has a lot of bashers, baka tinarayan nya ang mga readers nya?? haha.. hula lang :P

Thanks Kathleen! Hmmm I try to avoid reading these kinds of things. Basta ever since I’ve come to know Laureen, she’s always been a caring and sweet friend to me. I love her. I know she’s a beautiful person inside and out. I guess when you’re on top, the spotlight is on you so you can’t avoid these things.

Btw, I’m so curious to your speaking voice that’s why I searched on YouTube and found your video clip in sm gtw. I was really amused on how fast you talked! Lol! Well I guess it’s because there are a lot of things going in your mind, people who tend to talk fast are those with lots of ideas on their mind kc, you’re really my Favorite blogger ever! You’re so Chinese Oriental. It took me a while to realize that your skirt had bamboo shoots as its print pala, haha! I’m so slow. But I must agree! The top is so Chinese but not in the most stereotyped manner. :) It ain’t no cheongsam, but it still is pretty elegant and classy :D

History is my favorite subject talaga! I don’t know why but I’m fascinated by it… I love going to museums and looking at vintage stuff, and old places that some people are afraid to go to… hahaha. Your top reminded me of the Magellan-Lapu2x face-off at Mactan, Cebu. hahahaha… >.< I like how you made the top look so modern. Ganda!

Hi Camille! Love this look. I’m always jealous of your legs that look like they never end! Haha.
I hope you don’t mind if I ask for style advice. :) There’s this party I’m going to and we have to wear something of a 60s to 90s style. I don’t really want to wear anything flashy. What do you think can I pair with a plain long sleeve shirt and chuck taylors? :D
