Hello Dubai!

Here we go! It’s the start of another series of travel diaries. If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you must know by now how much I enjoyed my trip to Dubai. This city has long been part of my bucket list, mainly because I’ve heard so many good things about its Dubai Shopping Festival that happens every winter season (January to early February). Of course after touring around the city, I now know Dubai has so much more to offer than just shopping–all of which I’ll share with you on my next posts. For now, let me start this series off with my first #OOTD, shot at one of the world’s largest shopping malls, The Dubai Mall.

I kid you not, this was the very first point of interest on my list. I knew my priorities and my priorities were shoes, bags, shoes, bags, shoes, bags. I scored the biggest deals at The Dubai Mall’s Level Shoe District, Galeries Lafayette and Bloomingdale’s because they carry a lot of my favorite luxury brands. If you’re not into these things, don’t fret. The Dubai Mall has everything, including affordable labels and high street brands. It also houses the Dubai Aquarium, SEGA Republic, Dubai Ice Rink, At The Top Burj Khalifa (which I’ll blog about next time), the Dubai Fountain (which you can see on my photos below) and more. It’s really IMPOSSIBLE to finish going around this mall in one day. You’re bound to visit it more than once. But even so, don’t let its size faze you. In fact, if you only have time to visit just one mall in Dubai (what a horrible horrible thought to fathom), this is definitely the mall I recommend.

Is Dubai very strict when it comes to your clothes? Like, they don’t allow short or sleeveless top? ‘coz I can’t decide what to wear for our Dubai trip? Thank you :) btw, love ur blog!!

I think Dubai isn’t as strict as the others. I didn’t try wearing sleeveless shirts though during my trip because two of my friends said some people still frown upon them. To play it safe, if you’d like to wear sleeveless shirts, make sure they’re full–meaning straps are at least three fingers wide. :)

    Hi Ms. Camille,

I hope I can visit Dubai someday (saving, haha!) The scene is great (parang Singapore??), and as usual, you look effortless. :) How do you go about traveling/ navigating in foreign countries (especially non-English speaking ones) when you don’t have a tour guide? I just though that you/bloggers travel so often that maybe you wont have enough time to research the transpo systems/terminals? :) or memorize na? haha I am the type who is so poor with directions -_-

Hi Wins! Whenever I can, I try to ask around or research online before I go to a certain place. But when I don’t have the time to do so, I just rely on my hotel’s concierge and ask for tips from him/her. If you lose your way, just ask a friendly looking local. :)

Comfort first before style. Love how you styled your keds! And yay, 1st of your Dubai trip and I can’t wait to read and learn more from you. I swear, whenever you do a series of travel diaries, it feels like I’m with you there and you’re the tour guide. I’m learning so much and at the same time appreciating the place because of your beautiful photos. I can’t wait for the time that I’ll experience them myself tho. Someday! :)

Awww thanks Shai! I appreciate it! I use Canon 5d Mark III. Basically whoever I’m with takes photos of me. I just fix the settings and tell them what angle to take the photos from :)
