Tour Eiffel

I still remember the first time I went up the Eiffel Tower. It was back in September 2007 during my student exchange program. I was with a bunch of my friends from school and we decided to go up the tower one night. Of course, it was the most magical thing ever. The Eiffel Tower was sparkling like a thousand stars exploded on it. And we were there, up close and personal–seeing it shine over the rest of Paris from above.

After that, I never really visited the famous landmark again. I’d always just see it from afar whenever I’m in Paris. But because this trip was my sister’s first time in the city of love, it was only fair to let her experience the magic as well. I mean, let’s be honest. No trip to Paris can ever be complete without a visit to the Eiffel Tower. This time though, we didn’t go up the tower anymore. We just set up real close to it so that she can see the tower in its entirety against the clear blue sky right before sunset, then eventually against the blue orange to pink purple sky during sunset and finally, against the dark sky at night. It was beautiful! And even more so when the tower’s lights started blinking. It was the best way to end our last night in Paris.

P.S. I’m saving the sunset and night photos for my next post. Coming soon!
