Uptown Funk

Neutrals have always been a winner with the more mature set, but that doesn’t mean youngsters (*cough* like me *cough*) can’t sport them and still look every bit as funky. I always say, it’s all about the styling. You don’t just look at an item and judge it by its face value by instantly dismissing it as a certain style. Don’t box things in so that you can get past first impressions and maximize your wardrobe to its fullest potential.

Take the Jenna shoulder bag by Avon Fashions for example. At first glance, it seems like the type of bag you can wear to work or school–conservative, simple, classic. But with the right styling, who would’ve thought it can look too cool for school as well? All it needed was a funky hairstyle, an androgynous outfit and a pair of edgy shoes to take it a step further. See, the possibilities are endless!

I couldn’t agree more with you about “boxing” styles. I have friends who when we go shopping and I pick up something “uncharacteristic” of my style (according to them) they immediately say that it’s not my style. You can’t know till you try and till you’ve styled it. Also, how can anyone else know your style better than yourself? I love how you look in these photos, by the way.
