Behind The Design: Pleated Tulle Gown

Yay! I finally got to wear my own design after a looooooong time. I usually don’t get to do so because I have a “clients first” policy and my events are always so last minute. But fortunately enough this time, I was able to rush a gown to wear to the Influence Asia Awards that was held last December in Singapore. Woot! Thank you to my dear staff who made this happen.

The gown I designed for myself is a black pleated tulle gown, embellished with black crystal beads and a few ruffles. It’s a sexy sheer number that was inspired by the statement necklace I have on here–full of intricate and eye-catching details that are neither over-the-top nor loud. Like the other couture gowns I make, this one features a full corset that cinches my waist and makes me appear like I actually have boobs to pull this low neckline off (hence the cleavage). Oh, how I wish I can wear more of my own designs in the future. It always feels good to answer the question, “who are you wearing?” with “Oh, this thing? I designed it.” (Insert smug face here.)

Hi Ms Camille! This is an unrelated question but I’m just really really curious as to why you haven’t tried going through eye laser treatment? Thanks in advance.

Whoever is taking my photos has to at least try to make the photos straight but if not, I can just straighten them when I edit :)

Hi miss Camille! I really enjoyed the fun video you made last night. It was me who did not open the door for my husband. It was actually the gate he wants me to open but I cant coz I cant stop myself from watching so it was my sister opened the gate for him.
Anyways, your such a great designer..the dress is really beautiful and I believe you got a lot of eyes staring on you and that dress.. the pictures looked like a drawing that has come to life and the blackness of the gown fitted well with the color of your hair. One word to describe this dress on you.Its PERFECTION!
