I’ve always loved the idea of a destination wedding and prenuptial shoot abroad. I remember the first time I thought about it. It was during my foreign exchange program when I was visiting one of Spain’s palaces one weekend. I was staring at its grand ballroom and thinking to myself, wouldn’t it be nice to get married in a place like this? Or even just do a prenuptial shoot here? I quickly dismissed it as a fantasy of course. Doing something like that in Europe must be waaaaay too expensive. The logistics alone must be a headache. How would I know where to shoot? Do I need permits? Where do I get that? Where do I get suppliers? Should I fly in my own photographer, videographer, stylist and makeup team? Sigh. Too much of a hassle.
And then I chanced upon Sunrise Greece, a company that specializes in pre wedding photo shoots and intimate wedding ceremonies in Europe for people like me who live so far away and have no idea where or how to start. From Santorini, Mykonos, Athens and other places in Greece, Sunrise Greece have now expanded to include cities like Paris, Salzburg, Hallstatt and many more into their portfolio. Finally, my fantasy can now become a reality.
As I’ve said in my previous post, my Sunrise Greece experience started in Santorini. Having done my styling session already, it was straight to the shoot the next day. Our call time was at 5am. Pretty early but it’s okay. If this is what it takes to get the best shots, no way am I wasting this opportunity. Besides, I get to sit pretty in my chair anyway while Chris does all the work with my hair and make up. Time to do some magic! Lol.
Shooting around Santorini was a breeze mainly because Sunrise Greece knew the ins and outs of Europe well, all the more Santorini! They knew when the best time to shoot was and where to go to capture the most scenic views. I guess this is really the main advantage of working with a European team as opposed to bringing your own team. (This, and of course not having to worry about their meals, flights and accommodations while in Europe.) It was the most hassle-free experience ever. I didn’t have to worry about a single thing! Maybe this is why I look so serene in all my photos here, despite the fact that I’m standing on top of domes and at one point, atop a cliff overlooking the vast sea.

The first time I saw one of your pictures of this on Instagram I honestly thought you were getting married and I was probably one of the happiest person on that day but later on I knew that you weren’t settling down yet but at least it made me happy hahaha hopeless romantic here!

I remembered 3 years ago, you had an interview and one question was that ‘How would you see yourself 5 (or was it 10?) years from now’ and your answer was that you see yourself being happily married. I remembered asking myself then if you’re gonna find yourself a husband in the next few years. Of course since you are pretty much a private person and never really posted anything regarding your love life unlike your friends, I thought you really have no boyfriend. I was really your fan back then and I never fail on commenting you almost all of your posts (*I remembered feeling so giddy when I see you replying :D You’re my girl crush and you are the one I wanna be but can never be*) and I never really thought of you getting married in the very near future. Life happened to me (**sucks!**) and I wasn’t that updated with your blogs anymore. But I still am updated bcs I am following your IG and I saw how you started getting rid of your bangs, how you started wearing and posting your photos in bikinis (*I remembered someone asking you back then why you weren’t posting any bikini pics and you answered that your parents are conservative and that the internet is not safe or smth*), how from blond or brown your hair became of different bold colors and now, how you’re getting married. It’s a shame that I never really had a chance to see you and hear your squeaky cutie voice in person.
