Roland Mouret For Banana Republic

Last Thursday was a jampacked day. I hosted the Freshgear Fashion Faceoff under the scorching hot sun at UST from morning until late afternoon, then went straight to Greenbelt 5 afterwards to host the launch of the Roland Mouret For Banana Republic collection.

You can just imagine how I must’ve looked by the time I reached my second event. (Hint: It starts with a “C” and rhymes with “frap”.) Good thing Banana Republic had a special Roland Mouret For Banana Republic dress ready for me. A quick outfit change to this gorgeous outfit and a low ponytail were just what I needed to make me look decent again. I guess it’s true what Roland Mouret said about his collaboration with Banana Republic, they’re a great fit because both of them have the same goal of making women feel and look beautiful in what they’re wearing. I certain felt that way. Heck, I felt like a million bucks in my dress!

For those of you who are not familiar with the brilliant Roland Mouret, he is a French fashion designer recognized for his use of draping and the fitted silhouette to enhance women’s best assets. In my opinion, this design aesthetic of his matches perfectly with Banana Republic’s easy and refined style. You can see this clearly on all of the pieces from the Roland Mouret for Banana Republic collection. I added a few photos from the launch so that you’ll see what I mean. All the pieces from this collection can be styled for both day (easy) and night (refined) because they’re simple, sophisticated and minimalist. Mouret  also employed a lot of color blocking and an assortment of hourglass silhouettes while making use of Banana Republic’s special Sloan fabric to ensure an incredible fit. I’m sure the guests who attended the launch can attest to this. It was one of things everyone was raving about! Who would’ve thought that the tricky hourglass silhouette can look great on the many different shapes and sizes of women? I certainly didn’t! Don’t believe me? The price range is somewhere between P2,000 something to P8,000 something, not bad for a special designer collection.

Grabe idol na din kita ate Cams when it comes to turning yourself presentable in just a click away,I remembered na galing kapa sa isang event sa UST and yet you managed yourself in changing your look to find pleasant and perfect for the second event(two events in one day).     I love how Roland Mouret focused on silhouettes rather than embellishments. It’s good that the designs are very minimal. Lissa’s and your dress really suited you both (were they made for you guys as in tinahi especially for you guys? I’m just amazed how they really looked good on you. Is it hereditary? Pass me some genes. Chos!). I think I already saw your post on Instagram regarding this, but would you mind telling me what your hair color is? I don’t know the appropriate word but I’ll just put it as “diplomatic”. :)

      Thanks Charmaine! They fit so well that they felt like they were made for us! :) My hair color is diplomatic? Haha! I’m not so sure, I know it’s ash, really really dark ash. Because my hair color lightens so fast, my hair stylist dyed my hair so many shades darker to get this color.

      Don’t you worry, you’ll have the upper hand next time LOL! I mean who doesn’t want a baby-faced cutie? :) Don’t try to dress too old. It doesn’t matter if your face looks young as long as you dress and act your age. Respect will follow :) For an 18 year old, you don’t have to dress too maturely yet. You can pretty much get away with so many styles! But if you want to be a bit more serious, go for slimmer silhouettes, less frills :)
