Travel Diary: Dubai Desert Safari

I can not tell you how excited I was to try the desert safari experience in Dubai. All my friends who’ve been to Dubai have been raving about it–telling me it’s a must, especially for people who like to explore new sceneries. Obviously, my expectations were set as high as the sky. I was already imagining what outfit to wear, photos to take and fashion poses to do days in advance. But, all that went out the window the moment I got to the desert.

Our desert safari tour was booked though I Can Fly Travel once again. They’ve partnered up with one of the 3 main desert safari tour agencies in Dubai for this. Apparently, not all agencies have the permission to go to certain areas of the desert. Good thing we went with the right one! Once we arrived at the desert, our driver asked us to buckle up, turned the music up and gave us the most thrilling ride around the desert’s sand dunes. It was so much fun, I felt like I was riding a rollercoaster! Then we made a quick stop in the middle of the desert for a photo op and off to the desert camp we went where more photo ops, camel rides, dinner and drinks and entertainment were waiting for us. It was the perfect Dubai desert experience except for one little thing. Clever me didn’t take into account that it was Dubai’s winter season when we went. In my head, I was thinking, “It’s Dubai. It’s a desert. It MUST be hot.” Boy couldn’t I be more wrong. It was already cold to begin with (even for my thick skin). It was made even worse by the gloomy skies and rain that kept pouring every now and then. In fact, it was so freezing cold that at least 4 strangers/tourists came up to me later in the night to ask me how I’m managing to survive. (Just look at how the other tourists, smarter tourists, are bundled up in layers and layers of jackets, scarves and sweaters.) When my mom was taking my photos, it was so windy I was literally getting pushed by the wind. By the time we finished, two of her fingers became as white as snow. (Thankfully, they went back to normal after some time. I’m sorry mom you had to sacrifice your fingers for these shots. LOL!) But at least we were able to take these awesome shots, with some of them even showing the beautiful desert sunset. (Mom’s sacrifice didn’t go to waste after all.)

    Wow. I must say that your photos are incredible. Not to say the Dubai views! I will be performing some photo shoots in Dubai too. A friend bought me a voucher via CityCard Dubai and Ive never been this excited!

    You looks pretty, I love your picture. If you thinks to do something in Dubai between your tour then Desert Safari is the best option for you. I also enjoyed it when I was on Dubai Tour.

    Oh my, your skin is so pale na in some of your shots. But yes, these photos were worth taking. Look how majestic the deserts looks even if it’s all sand and skies lang. Good thing you didn’t catch any flu/cold while you’re in dubai. Thank God! :) Love the outfit. I love how you were trying to mimik a traditional Ariabian girl outfit in the camille co way! ;)

    Wow!Such a beautiful scenery out there!The whole thing reminds me of the movie “The Temptation Island” though. :) With your black attire, you look like a very pretty gypsy out there! Lovely photos too! And I also love those sand inside the bottle!:)

    Poor Miss Camille, you got really cold that day pero okay lang, maganda na man yung mga photos, very stunning:) And I’m a bit concerned about their dress code or something, hindi na man sila super conservative Miss Camille? :)

      Oo nga, worth it naman! Yes they are but at the desert safari not so much. I researched kasi photos from other tourists. But just to be sure, I still wore my kimono and chose to wear this super long top so that I can cover myself :)

    One of the post I’m really looking forward to aside from Miracle Garden :) You never fail to give other people a second look to you outfit especially with that kind of weather hahaha! You really nailed it though :) you can pass as a gypsy queen! In a sexy way :)) Also, kudos to your mom for taking if bit all but some of your beautiful photos! More please ;)

    I’ve been waiting for this post since I saw you editing photos on snapchat! The place is so pretty! And your outfit looks so good too and the accesories :) But I don’t think I could handle the cold weather there hahaha. I also always think that dubai is hot since there’s so many deserts there lol! Your mom’s sacrifice is worth it since the photos turned out amazing!
    Btw ate cams, did you dye your hair in a red violet shade/ dark pink/purple hahaha on your 6th photo the tip of your hair looks like it :) so pretty actually!
