I didn’t think I’d ever find myself in Masbate. Not because I think any less of it but because I haven’t really heard much about it. When we talk about the Philippines and its famous cities, the list is always topped by Palawan, Cebu, Boracay, Davao and so on and so forth. Masbate, however, not so much. But I guess this is what makes Masbate different. Compared to the others, it’s still quite raw which makes it so full of potential. Just take a look at the beaches we visited–the Buntod sandbar and Borobancaso Island. (We were supposed to visit more but the weather was not cooperating.) Both are so clean and unpretentious–you really get a sense of nature reigning over everything else. For a moment there, I could’ve even sworn I was in a different time–a less complicated time when the simpler things in life were appreciated more. We need more of this.

It’s BOROBANCASO ISLAND and not burubangkaso island. Please find time to edit/correct the spelling
Oops! Thanks!

Camille, don’t you ever get scared to go to remote places? Is it safe there?
I was in good company :) Totally safe!
Wow! Masbate looks so magical and I have to agree with you Cams about its ‘untouched’ charms. Those rock formations are also a surprise. I didn’t know we had those here in the Philippines. It definitely reminds me of the Giant’s Causeway in the UK!
Anne’s Scribbles and Doodles
