Let Loose

I remember the first time I saw a pair of culottes. It was during high school when I was required to wear them during P.E. I hated them back then because I thought they looked like crap. I mean, they’re basically pants shaped like a skirt in an incredibly awkward length. Can’t they freaking decide if they wanted to be a pair of pants or a skirt? I disliked them so much that if I could’ve burned them, I would’ve. Fast forward to now and I’ve made a complete 180. I actually can’t have enough of them. I love them so much that if I still had my old pair of culottes and still fit in them, I would’ve probably worn them out again.  It’s amazing how one’s style preferences can change drastically through time. Various factors are at play–the people you meet, the things you see, the experiences you encounter. This is why one should always keep an open mind, especially when it comes to fashion. Never say never…unless it’s a pair of platform rubber flipflops. (I’m sorry if I offended anyone. Peace!)

    I totally agreed with you ate Cams, our style preference would change. :) I also use to hate skirts when I was in high school because it is too girly for my taste but right now I’m loving skirts already. :)

    I wanted to know what is the feeling of wearing that kind of block-heel shoes. How does it feel? What opt you to wear such kind? IDK I just don’t feel comfortable with its awkward height. If I would wear one, it would be for a reason to annoy someone. Haha.

    To be honest, I never liked that piece too. I don’t think it will look good on me (’cause I’m not that tall lol). I have the same thoughts as yours but when I saw people wearing those these days, I think my perceptions are changing haha! They look good on you! :)

    Hahaha I can seriously feel High School Camille’s irritation towards culottes. Lol! I swear, I was literally laughing while reading how much you hate them. Yes, totally agree with you that style preferences do change as you grow maturely. Btw, despite how much you hate them back then, you totally rocked this outfit! I love how you matched the culottes to something boho-ish chic and a bit of casual feels. Love love that Valentino Sandals! Huhu I was stunned the first time I saw them in your Country Girl post!

    Ouch for the platform rubber flip flops :)) I used to have one back in college :))) How do you pronounced Culottes? Like Kulots? Hahaha! I Google it but it’s awkward for me to say it out loud when I’m trying to find one in stores like Topshop and Dorothy Perkins :))) Pretty as always!

    Fashion always finds a way to make a come back one way or another. I didn’t like culottes back then too especially after seeing some of my mom’s old photos. But boy, do I enjoy rummaging through her old clothes and finding treasures. Sadly, her culottes are gone. She said she might have given them away when we moved to Cebu. Oh well, I might just have to find one on my own. Hehe. Wish me luck? I like the way you paired them with a crop top and a matching hat Cams. May abs pa oh. Winner talaga. :)

    You look totally great in those! Only a few people can pull culottes. I totally agree with you ate cams! Back then I hated wearing skirts but because of you I’ve learned to love them, that’s why i always wear skirts to school na hahaha
