The Right Mix

Because my upper torso is petite, I’ve always been partial to boxy tops like this. They’re the perfect companion to my hips. You know, these hips that don’t ever ever lie. (LOL!) You see, fashion is all about creating proportions and achieving the right balance. You can wear the prettiest clothes and the latest trends but if you don’t know how to make them work for your body shape, then you might as well wear rags. So with the start of the new year, I urge you to study your body type and invest in pieces that’ll flaunt your assets and hide your flaws. Trust me, they’ll do wonders and get you compliments no trend can ever top.

Oh, this was taken about a month ago. And you had dinner at Magnum Cafe. I remember coz I was there two tables to your left and noticed the color of your blouse (I love jewel tones) and the pattern of your skirt (I love prints probably as much as you do). Then I looked up and realized it was you.

Although I totally agree with you about proportions, I have to emphasize the fact that your body is gorgeous. I mean, come on… we’ve seen your bikini photos! ^^ Still, I have to say that I love your humility and the way you use what could be a complex for you as advice for others. Great outfit, by the way! ^^

(has a very guilty and ashamed face) – Hi, Miss Camille! I hope you still remember me! I haven’t commented on your blog in months! But, guess who’s finally got her own Internet connection? :-D I can finally go online more frequently and not in month-long gaps! I’ve missed reading your entries! I follow your Instagram account too, so I still see your OOTDs whenever I get the chance, and I also downloaded your app.

I got quite an eyeful from your latest travel posts and adventures and I’m excited to read through them. For now, I’d like to comment on this recent post because the color really caught my eye. The green of your top fits in so well with the holiday colors. It sets the right mood for warm cups of coffee or chocolate, or even cider. The boxy silhouette leaves nothing to be anxious about since I agree with your notions on finding complements to one’s body type. In fact, your top gives that very loose and comfy feel I often see in ‘his-for-her’ inspired clothing. (Does it come in red? My closet has too much of that hue, but I can’t seem to resist wanting to get this top since I’m a sucker for the fabric type.)

Your skirt is an unexpected play of gray. I like how it gives a beautiful shape to your pose in the last photo. I can imagine the scene itself somewhere in a music video— and then your shoes happened! I haven’t seen these type of shoes in that particular pop of blue! Reminded me so much of the candy I’ve heard about overseas. These are the pumps that you normally associate with semi-formal wear, but you made it so artistic-looking by mixing it with your chosen top, skirt, and bag.

I have to say though, it’s your bangles that got me nostalgic. The classic gold one with the studs and the metal-chain weave brown one with the pretty floral jewels are definitely an under-the-radar 90’s-kid representation.

Thank you for all these eye-candy and awesome stylish entries! I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

Totally agree! It’s all about proportions and balancing! I kinda have a weird body type, I have broad shoulders, not to wide, not to thin arms, 36 inch hips and average legs. Tho, I look big because of my body frame but oh well. Haha I’m so excited to experiment with new trends this coming 2015! :D :D

I’m excited as well! :) The first step is to know your body and you seem to know yours well so it’ll be easier for you to look for clothes that’ll suit your shape :)

You look so pretty and fresh here, Cams :) I love your top and that shade of green. I completely agree with what you said about choosing clothes that work for YOUR body type. No matter how trendy or “in” your clothes are, if it doesn’t work for you, sayang lang din diba? I will definitely be keeping this in mind from now on <3
