My First CC Cream

Because of our fast-paced lifestyles, women nowadays opt for products with multiple benefits and functions. This is why after BB Creams, CC Creams have now become all the rage.

“CC stands for Complexion Corrector, color correction, or color control. First developed in Korea to address discoloration, CC creams are generally lighter in texture than BBs and provide more natural coverage. Going beyond the immediate tone and moisturization benefit of BB creams and tinted moisturizers, CC Creams not only provide instant results but also long-term skin benefits.”

I was actually quite skeptical to try CC creams at first. I was already more than content with my BB cream so why try another? But with benefits like that, I just had to see it for myself. So for my first CC Cream, I tried Olay White Radiance’s 3-in-1 CC Cream–a spot corrector, a brightening moisturizer, and a natural coverage foundation that gives you flawless skin today and in the long run. It’s powered by the revolutionary combination of Olay’s breakthrough Cellular Bioenergetics Science and Max Factor’s renowned expertise in make-up, using ingredients such as Essential Glucosamine Complex to help boost skin’s natural hydration and barrier and reduce hyper-pigmentation to achieve even skin tone; moisturizer with Glycerine and SPF15 to provide powerful hydration, protecting skin from harmful UV rays, and instantly improves tone and texture; and a sheer foundation that incorporates mineral pigments for immediate blending, matches skin tone for a natural look, and achieves even coverage.

The Olay White Radiance 3-in-1 CC Cream is available in 2 shades, light and medium. To determine which shade suits you best, try the color out on your jawline, not on your wrist or hand. Make sure that your jawline is free from make-up and that you stay in an area with natural lighting like a doorway or by a window to see if the color matches. The color that blends easily with your skin tone is the right shade for you. Mine is the light shade.

Before applying the CC Cream, make sure your face is perfectly cleansed and moisturized. I don’t like using a lot of makeup so I’m only using a small amount to spread onto my face on an upward and outward direction. It’s advisable to massage your face as you apply the product to allow active ingredients to penetrate deeply into skin surface and provide even looking skin tone instantly.

Here’s how the CC Cream looks on me. My skin is a bit reddish on some parts (as you can see in the 2nd photo above) but the CC Cream was able to neutralize those parts and even out my skin tone. It lightened some of my dark spots too but my favorite thing about it is that it reduced the look of my pores! As for its texture, it has a hydrated non-greasy feel once you let it settle onto your skin.

Olay White Radiance CC Cream provides light coverage with a natural dewy look that’s perfect for use during the day. It’s no comparison to the coverage that a normal foundation provides because it is kind of sheer. But if you’ve got major blemishes and dark spots you need to cover, you can always apply powder or foundation on top of it. I’m content with just the CC cream though but I did try applying foundation on top of it after taking this photo, just to see how it feels. It didn’t feel like I was wearing anything else under my foundation! The CC Cream is that light so even if you wear it alone or with something else, it still allows for touch ups during the day.

The true advantage of using a CC cream really lies on its color correcting abilities. If you want to even out your skintone, the CC cream is the way to go. I’ve only used Olay White Radiance CC Cream for a couple of days but I was told that for its long-term skin benefits, I must check the appearance of dark spots before and after application on days 4, 7, 10 and 14, so we’ll see what happens! For now, I’m loving how it looks!

Oh no it doesn’t have that effect on me at all! That’s weird. :( So sad it doesn’t suit your skin. Maybe you’re allergic to an ingredient?

Hi Camille! I like your review here, but can you give me your opinion on korean brand CC cream? My bb cream’s about to be empty and I’ve been meaning to check out CC creams from Tony Moly, Nature Republic and Face Shop.

You have probably noticed that I am a Korean beauty addict, so naturally, I have tried BB creams. As for CC, I have only tried the Bourjois CC eye cream, and it was great. I wanted to try their CC cream as well, but I bought the Ampoule Intense Cushion from Innisfree instead and I have to say…it’s the best thing ever. I say try a cushion foundation. The coverage is similar to CC creams, but application is so much easier. I am hoping to try Olay products in the future.

P.S. I agree with a reader above, your no-make up skin looks gorgeous.

I’ve been a consistent BB cream user since 2011, i think? And I’ve heard a lot from CC cream and just like you, I’m so contented with my BB cream that I didn’t even bother to listen to CC cream reviews. Haha will try this rin, I love the after effect. Your face really looks so radiant. Gusto ko rin ng radiant face hahah. The cream kinda reminds me of ice cream. hehe :D

    Hi Camille!

I think you don’t need this kind of products. You’re already beautiful. I mean perfect. Hahaha.

Btw, I saw you at GT Tower in Makati. I wish I had a picture with you there. Huhu.

Wish I was blessed with nice complexion like you! :( Kahit wala kang makeup super ganda pa rin ng skin mo Cams. I think it’s in the genes. My family kase is known for their skin problems (both from my mom and my dad’s side lol) so I had no escape haha. Kaya I’ve started relying on heavy makeup to cover up my skin problems but my dermatologist that only makes it worse. Maybe I should try this CC Cream para “masanay” yung skin ko with less heavier products.

Yeah you have to let your skin rest! :) But I’m sure with the right products and with the help of your dermatologist, your skin will clear up too! :)

I have been using BB cream for a while now but this post makes me want to try out the CC cream. Cams you look so good even without makeup on. Your skin is that lovely. Alagang Olay? :) To be honest, the Olay product you gave away during your bday dinner last year was so good that it became a permanent resident in my skin care basket. Hehe. Anyway, I simply love how they packaged this product. It’s pretty interesting.

I never knew Olay has a CC cream product. I prefer using CC creams over BB creams, too. I use this CC cream from Etude House. It’s an 8-in one product so it has a lot of benefits, too. And I really like the natural finish, just like yours.

I also used BB cream for a long time but after watching many korean beauty shows, they all said that CC Cream is better because it feels lighter :)

I think your bare skin (2nd photo) looks stunning na even without any makeup on :) I love how the bottle looks btw haha
