Travel Diary: Enchanting Hallstatt

As much as I’d like to pretend I’m a seasoned traveller with all the knowledge about the world’s most beautiful places, I’m not. I had no clue a town like Hallstatt existed in Austria which is such a pity because it is hands down the closest thing to a fairytale wonderland. Apparently, Hallstatt is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List and is considered to be the oldest still-inhabited village in all of Europe. Due to its plentiful salt deposits, Hallstatt has enjoyed a prosperous history, resulting to a town filled with exquisite architecture. Lovely little houses, romantic alleys, cosy cafes coupled with the sublime view of the mountains and lake, there is no resisting this town. Even while chock-full of tourists (plus the fact that I was walking around the town under the cold cold rain in a wedding gown), I still look back at this time with fond memories of this place. I really really really highly recommend it! If you’re ever in the area, make sure to drop by and do a day trip.
