Restore

A lot of you always ask me how I take care of my designer shoes and bags. To be honest, I’m not all that careful with them. I’m not one of those women who treat their bags and shoes like trophies. I use them and, sometimes, much as I’m embarrassed to admit, abuse them too. That Chanel bag you see up there is probably the most abused out of all of them. It’s been with me through thick and thin. Parties, concerts, events, you name it, I’ve brought it. The result? It’s no longer as white as it used to be and it even has a tiny ink blot on the inside of its flap. I know, I know. I’ve committed a sin and somewhere in heaven, Coco Chanel must be frowning upon me. Thank God there’s Royal Restore to bring my baby back to its former glory (and get back to dear Coco’s good side).

Royal Restore is a subsidiary of Mr. Quickie so you’re sure they know their leather well. They offer various services for your designer shoes, bags, belts and other leather goods, such as cleaning, stain removal, complete color restoration, water and stain proofing, leather conditioning, heel and sole restoration, deodorizing and more. I had my Chanel bag plus my Emoda leather shorts repaired by them a few weeks back. (If you’re wondering what happened to my leather shorts, our household help stored them on top of a pair of black leather shorts inside my closet. Because of the heat, I guess the black color transferred  to my white leather shorts.) My bag and shorts were in such bad shape, Royal Restore couldn’t just clean them. They suggested that I have them dyed instead to restore them to their original state. I was reluctant at first because the kind of white my shorts and bag were in wasn’t the usual stark white. They were both kinda off-white. Good thing Royal Restore showed me sample swatches first. They dyed 3 leather swatches each for my bag and shorts for me to choose from. After a week or so, my leather shorts and Chanel bag were looking brand spanking new!!! Even my bag’s strap was as clean as ever! They also threw in a tiny pillow to keep my Chanel bag’s shape and dust bags to keep my bag and shorts protected. Check out how they look now!

My fave color for clothes is white because it always look classy and elegant (well for me haha) but downside is it’s hard to take care of. you really need to be cautious :( and of course for designer bags you cant just throw it off or send it off for repair in cheap stores so Thank god for restorations like this :)

I’d rather use my designer bags and let them bake in the sun than keep them in storage to crack in the dark. Honestly, what is the point of spending that much money on an item if you don’t get the luxury of enjoying it right? I used to be one of those girls who’d place tissues beneath her bag before placing it on a table, and bring out the big names only once maybe twice a year. Every bag has it’s breaking point, no matter the quality, no matter the brand. Just make the best out of it while it’s still in good condition. Love your style philosophy, girl!
