Travel Diary: Vienna

Vienna, it’s time to say goodbye. It was great spending a few days to get to know you. I’m sure this won’t be the last. What with your beautiful imperial architecture mixed with contemporary design (which no one does as seamlessly as you do), your Instagram-friendly cafes, vast museums and buzzing night life, it will be hard to stay away. To the city of music where everyone seems to be carrying an instrument (okay fine, maybe 1 out of 10), I shall see you again!

And to you my dear readers, here are a few snapshots from Vienna with love. Some of the places you’ll find below are Stephansdom or St. Stephen’s Cathedral, MuseumsQuartier (where all the interesting museums are), Rathaus (the city hall that’s especially beautiful at night), Parlament, Hundertwasserhaus (the funkiest apartment I’ve ever seen), Hofburg Palace, Mariahilfer Straße and Kohlmarkt (for all your shopping needs), Sacher (for a taste of the original Sacher torte or chocolate cake), Figlmüller (for some authentic schnitzel) and Demel Cafe (for yummy desserts and coffee). These are just a few points of interest you might want to visit if ever you find yourself in Vienna. I do recommend visiting during Christmas season though so you’ll get to experience the Christmas markets!

Waaaah!! So many beautiful locations! I think the photographer in me would go crazy if I visited Vienna. I wouldn’t know where to go first! Haha. To semi-quote Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, “I’m definitely not in Manila anymore!!”
