Here’s another new discovery my family and I visited during our trip to Singapore. My sister really wanted to shop at local stores so she researched about this charming little area called Haji Lane. It reminds me of Paris’ Le Marais except it’s the Asian version. If I were to compare it to a place here in Manila, Cubao X is probably the closest. They sort of have the same concept. Haji Lane is a hub for quaint little stores, mostly fashion. It’s got a lot of flavor, to say the least.
Upon entering the vicinity, this was the first establishment we saw. It just commands attention, doesn’t it? It’s the facade of a restaurant. Judging from the wall art, maybe it’s African? Mexican?
Of course, this was my initial thought–MUST.TAKE.OUTFIT.SHOTS.
It’s all about comfort and casual dressing for me again. This is really a priority in all of my travels. No outfit should hinder me from soaking it all in. I’m such a travel junkie. I really am.

While walking around Haji Lane, I kept taking photos of literally everything around me! There’s just something about places like this that makes everything look like a piece of art. They’re so full of character!
Print on print, anyone?
My sister was able to buy this pair of leather shoes. They’re the only pair the store has and they’re size 4 and a half. The store clerk said so many people wanted to buy them but they’re too small for all of them. How lucky is my sister?
Well if all signs looked like this, then maybe more people would happily abide by the rules.
If only big stores would pay attention to little details like these. They make customers want to look around the store more. They certainly lured me in!
Hello there, cutie! I need you in my room!
Spot our reflection on the glass. If only I know how to ride a bike. Someone teach me how to ride a bike!!! A moving bike, okay? Not the ones at the gym. LOL! Just clarifying.
All the cool sunnies are here!
Ring for love!!! Ring for cuddle!!! Ring for kiss!! (Let’s not mention the last bell in red. Let’s keep it PG-13 people!)
“Life without fashion would be a mistake.” I AGREE! Who’s with me?
I love these shoes and bag for men. If there are straight guys who got lost in my blog (First of all, wow!! Second of all, why? LOL! Not that I’m complaining), take notes!
These speakers look so cool! Old school type of cool!
“Fashion is what’s available” To a certain extent, yes, but I think fashion is what you make of it.
Out of all the stores we entered, this is the only store I remember by name. I LOVE THE CLOTHES HERE! This store is called Crayon. They actually just opened a few minutes before we entered. We were their first customers–EVER! And we bought a lot! How can we not? They have the most adorable pieces in the prettiest prints! Their style is very mod. Très chic!
If you visit Singapore, I definitely recommend checking this place out. If you’re tired of the usual malls, you’ll love Haji Lane for it’s unique selection and quirky charm.
I’m definitely loving this place. Another side of Singapore, something unusual because people usually take shots showing how modern Singapore is. And here you are, taking absolutely awesome pictures, thanks Ms. Cams
Thank you Nikka! :) Glad you like my version :)
What brand and shade of lipstick are you using?
Oh my, I’ve already forgotten! :)
Too bad I wasn’t able to visit this place when I was there. I wouldn’t take outfitshots but I definitely would look for food(there’s bound to be something there). Great place though, thanks for the tip!
There’s definitely food! :) You’re welcome :)
ohhh, sayang!!! i want to go back to sg tuloy pero ang mahal kasi masyado :D
When sale season comes along! :)
If you want to find pretty dresses, shoes, bags, accessories, tops, etc. for a low price, I recommend you to go to Bugis! My sister who works in Singapore discovered it and introduced the place to us. We loved it! Medyo Divisioria lang ang peg kasi sobrang dami ng mamimili dahil sobrang mura! At karamihan ng namimili dun puro girlsssss! Lahat na ata ng kakikayan andun na! :D
Ohhh! I should go there next time! :)
Ang ganda ng place. It’s so clean and the paints are soo cute…
Ganda ng outfit mo Miss (as usual)!
Btw, dun sa reflections sa bike store, is that you, your sister and your mom in there?? :))
Yes! :) Thanks Gladys!
Ang galeeng. Parang naka fall-in line talaga kayo, diagonal..:)

(I seemed to be really curious, noh?)
Older! She just looks super young :)
What dslr camera are you using ms. Camille? your photos always look like it was taken by a professional photographer :)
Usually my Nikon D7000 but for travels like this, I use Olympus OM-D Em5

Hi Ms. Camille. I love you’re style. That’s why every time you mention stores in your blog. I immediately write them down on my phone’s memo pad, and making a mental note to check them out to visit the mall or look at their facebook pages. hihi. It’s because of you that I became a fashion addict. I hope to see you at BU5. :D
P.S (Please do tell me how do you style your bangs. I have fringe bangs too and I always have a hard time styling them. Thanks)
Thank you Nicole! :) My bangs are so low maintenance. I just dry them and that’s it! They just stay that way haha!

Thanks Char! :) Repeating so many of my clothes. I mean if you love them, hard not to, right? :)
OMG!! where is this? I’ve been to SG a lot of times but I haven’t been into this place!! :'(( How do you go here??

You’ll love it! :))
Hey Camille! Nice pictures :) anyway, do you know what time the shops at haji lane open/close?
They open late, that I know! :) I’m just not sure what time exactly :)
Love love love your outfits, Ms Camille!! Especially your sandals! Haji Lane looks fun! hope to visit there one day! all the shops are cute! I love the speaker.. perfect for someone like me who loves listening to song the whole time! =D and i agree with you on that! Life without fashion is really a big mistake!! The 2 books looks really interesting.. what’s the full title of the Coco Chanel’s? can’t see clearly..
Just “Coco Chanel, An Intimate Life by Lisa Chaney” :) You should go to SG. It’s really near your country!
Thanks, Ms Camille! I might want to add it to my book collection. =) Yes I will, Ms Camille! =)
How do you pack/store your shoes in your luggage? Or you just hand carry those? :) i need tips how to do the shoe packing part! haha!
I place them inside shoe bags :)
Fashion IS what’s available. STYLE is what you make of it :) That’s the difference. ;)
But from a designer’s point of view, fashion CAN be what you make of it. :) It’s something you can create.
That’s a good point! To add another designer’s perspective, if I may, I think fashion as a construct is the fusion, or rather the explosion from the combination of each and every single person’s preferences and tastes, personal style and aesthetic. Designers, consumers, editors, writers, artists, even those indifferent to it “create” fashion all together. So in a sense, we can only contribute to and/or influence fashion but no one can ever really create it. What we actually create is our translation of our OWN vision of what fashion would/could/should be in order to communicate it, but not fashion itself. :) But that’s me. haha. I like this kind of discourse! ;)
Hence the evolution of fashion! :)
Adorable outfit! That place looks really cool! We’re going to Singapore later this May too. I researched about it and it says that the stores open up late. What time did you go there ? :)
We went early and a lot of the stores were closed still so we had to wait a while :)
what i love about you is that you always manage to be stylish even with simple clothes like this!
mind if you give me a little advice on how you would accessorize and style this kind of dress http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=290197901114987&set=a.290195677781876.1073741847.100003743385114&type=3&src=http%3A%2F%2Fsphotos-a.ak.fbcdn.net%2Fhphotos-ak-prn1%2F67521_290197901114987_1434335777_n.jpg&size=750%2C750 ? :D
thankyou!
xo
Sorry but I can’t view the photo :) Thanks Abigail!
Hi Ms. Camille! I really love the combination of your top and skirt and your shots! Are all the pictures in your Singapore trip are taken from your Olympus? :))
Yes :)
for me Fashion is Passion! :) those pictures seems to give an aura of “vintage” Fashion. the stores are so creative. Yeah if only the stores here will do that I will really not hesitate to go inside. :) Very beautiful Ms. Camille
We have a few like this :) At least! :)
Camille you’re so cuuute here with the lines “If there are straight guys who got lost in my blog (First of all, wow!! Second of all, why? LOL! Not that I’m complaining), take notes!”
So adobrs. Haha! :)
Haha! Thanks Elka! :)
your sister is a fashionista also?:)))) this place looks beautiful
http://itsgracebala.blogspot.ca/
Of course! :)
at 1 look in the first photo, i knew it was a Singapore street! :)
you can learn how to bike, I myself have just learned yesterday! :)
Really?! It’s on my bucket list!
Oh gosh, this looks beautiful!
I plan to go to SG this summer maybe (and now I even wanna go more), definitely have to check out this place *__*
The shops are soo cute <3 Thanks for sharing this ^^
My pleasure! :) Enjoy SG!
Where is it in Singapore? :D
Near Orchard and Bugis :)
You’re so lucky they let you take photos of their stores! Haha! I’m usually scared to take photos inside since they usually prohibit photo-taking inside @_@’ I’m with you on the bike thing. I can’t ride one unless the world is ending and it’s the one thing that can save me. The adrenaline rush might help me learn, hahaha! On another note, your sister has small feet @.@ 4 and a half shoe size? And I though I had small feet at 5 and a half o.o’
Oh I ask them first. Only one store said no. Pfft! My sister is usually a size 35 but she sometimes fit 34.5 :)
hey you forgot the ring for coffee ahaha joke anyway is it expensive to shop in there?
It’s less expensive than malls :)
I love Haji Lane too, although some of the unique pieces might be a tad more expensive than the stuff you can find at H&M, F21 etc but they are one of a kind! I love shopping for vintage dresses here! And lucky you, I think I went a few days before you and I remember seeing a shop that was almost done setting up (with wooden planks outside), I have a feeling its Crayon. I need to go Haji Lane again just for this shop!
ravenmaidenmaven.blogspot.com
Yeah that must’ve been Crayon! :)
Great skirt and shoes! What the colors! Excellent background for pictures :)
Thanks pobi!
Hi Cams! Love the pictures! This place is such a treasure! Will definitely visit on my next Singapore trip :)
PS: I e-mailed you :) Hope to hear from you :) (Lancome)
Oh shucks! Sorry haven’t reached your message. So many!
I totally agree with you, when you frequently visit a country you tend to forget to go to those great places in the nooks and corners rather than always going to those main areas to shop. As for me who lives in the neighboring country malaysia, cannot get enough of singapore! Beautiful country it is! Btw how old is your sis? She’s so lucky to be able to buy those cool shoes! Even though she has small feet, I believe a person’s disqualification is their greatest qualification!
That’s such a nice quote! Another way of saying love your own skin :) She’s 27 years old but looks waaaay younger than me :)
She is?! She definitely looks young for her age! :) are you the youngest? Judging by your posts, you look really tall!
Yes I’m the youngest. She’s 5’2″ :)
Life wiithout fashion is a mistake. HAha! I’m with you! :)

Thank you Angela! :) You’ll love it there!
Are the stuffs being displayed/sold at that lane are affordable compared to those displayed at the malls Miss Camille? :)
