Stop And Shop

There’s always time for shopping, right? After taking in the sights of Tokyo, I couldn’t miss dropping by Harajuku street for a quick fashion fix. It was less chilly that day so I was able to wear lighter clothes. I whipped out my florals and set aside my plaids to match the lovely spring weather. You know me, I love my florals. I love it so much one floral print wasn’t enough for my outfit. The print on print action isn’t that obvious though. I guess it’s because my sweater’s floral pattern looks similar to that of my skirt’s and they both have black outlines that kinda make the two prints look continuous. What do you think?

Unlike last year, I didn’t take much photos of Harajuku and Takeshita street. They’re still as colorful and full of life as always though.

Aside from Harajuku, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Omotesando and the other usual shopping areas, I discovered another hidden gem for you shopaholics! This one isn’t as mainstream though but I spent hours here because the items in these stores are just fascinating. The place I’m talking about is Kitakore in Koenji. Walking around Koenji, one wouldn’t think there’s anything to find here for fashionistas. The houses and establishments here look like this.

But just off the side of the street, you’ll find these unique stores that look like no professional carpenter ever had the chance to lay their hands on them. There’s no mistaking that these stores are indie, both inside and out.

I went to Kitakore around 11am so most of the stores were still closed when I arrived. I was lucky enough to find Garter, Ilil and Dog open though. In just this building alone, I was already more than satisfied! There were so many cool finds!

My guide said Lady Gaga shops here. I can see why! Look at these headpieces! It’s a costume stylist’s heaven!

There sell a lot of  exclusive designs but they also sell vintage luxury clothes and jewelry from brands like Versace, Chanel, Moschino and more.

I couldn’t help but stare at the embellishments on these!

I was this close to buying that seashell hat.

Can you see the PVC clothing in front? The transparent ones? The workmanship on those are just something else!!! As a designer, I can just imagine how hard they must be to conceptualize and make. WOW.

Want some unique eyewear? How about these?

I wish I was able to see the other stores here in Kitakore. Oh well, there’s always next time. Hopefully, more indie/non-mainstream stores will be discovered on my next trips!

Oh wow!! That’s one amazing store, Camille! I’m seriously considering booking a short trip to Japan next month just to go to that store. My personal style is very flambuoyant and extravagant, and I can already see so many pieces I want just from your photos alone! Those unique headpieces are calling out to me! I love that they’re so unique and it’s always fun to “shock” some people with crazy trends once in a while… Ahhhhh I can’t wait to goooo :(

I looove how the color of your hair pops! And you always wear the “it” hair color before it even becomes “it”! Just like when you were once a red head! Now, everyone craves for that color!

Your shoes reminded me of those Celine Slip On Sneakers! Have you tried those too? This oh: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BG5DgyVCEAAhbCf.jpg I love the Black Pony Haired!

Also, I really want to ask this Ms. Camille… hahahaha I was just wondering if you really wear all those rings the whole day? Or is it for the blog post only? Hahaha! I'm sorry, I'm just curious haha! 'Coz whenever I wear a ring, I always find myself playing with it and taking it off all the time haha! :))
